And the days they drag on and on and on.......

Staff meeting after school--always a treat. Tonight the principal announced who the staff voted to receive the four "Values" awards from our school (it's a district thing). The categories are things like professionalism, integrity, etc... All the people who "won" are very deserving, but the interesting thing is, not one of them is a classroom teacher. Secretary, paraprofessional, head custodian, instructional coach.

I'm done with all things season 1 of "Lost". Last night and tonight I watched the "essentials" dvd with bloopers, deleted scenes, auditions, casting process, pitching the pilot, behind the scenes stuff, etc. Very interesting-- I'm glad I watched the whole season 1 before watching it though.

Another teacher didn't bring her class to library today. People, people, people, do you not keep a calendar, a planning book, anything to keep you on track? I know there's a lot going on, and the schedule has changed a bit, and blah, blah, blah. I guess I just figure everybody does things the same as when I was a classroom teacher--you write these things on the board every day and the kids will help you remember. You have kids write them in their assignment notebooks and they help you remember. This same teacher didn't come last week, and after waiting five minutes I went down and got them. Today-- I didn't. I used the time to catch up on things. Probably doesn't seem very nice, but two weeks in a row--then you're on your own.

Now you see why I don't get a value award. :-)
