Kind of a weird day--my schedule has been all messed up because of doing all this stuff with the new math materials that came. I miss having my classes come in--even though kids trickle in every now and then, and today a whole class came in to check out books, it's still weird not to have the same schedule as usual. We are almost done with all the math stuff-- only one grade level still has their piles of boxes in the library.
I've become an avid watcher of AI-- tonight's little messages from home made me a little teary-eyed. I have to admit, I'm always sorry when one of them has to leave. By now you feel like you kind of know them. Last night I thought I saw Mandisa in the audience--and also that kid that looks like Peter Brady. Are they just hanging around to watch week after week? And it seems that the "song themes" each week are pretty ridiculous-- Queen? Next week Rod Stewart? Personally, I hope they do a Broadway week. And just for grins they should do an opera week-- or a Gilbert and Sullivan week.
I'm a little frustrated with the Nettie Flickers folks. A dvd I have on my list is being sent out today and the estimated arrival is Saturday? What's up with that??? I haven't even been one of those watch and return right away people for awhile. I've had a couple of movies for at least 10 days--waiting til bfg and I can watch them together on the weekend.
While I enjoy the weather turning nicer, it's frustrating because my warm-weather wardrobe is seriously lacking. Tomorrow is supposed to be at least 81 degrees. And right now it's almost 9:00 and it's 61 degrees. I could still use a little chill to the air--at least until I figure out some clothes to wear!
I have 27 more tickets to sell for our G&S (The Gondoliers) show in May and June. Bfg has a minor lead (he has his own solo this year) and I'm working backstage. Any takers? Tickets are only 15.00-- and it's a funny show. May 25 & 27, June 4, 8, 10 and 11. Get 'em while they're hot (and the Sunday matinees sell out really fast so hurry hurry)! Kids probably won't get the humor--so it should probably be a date night. "But I don't think I'd like this show" Hey-- you're supporting me! Could there be a better reason? "It sounds boring" How would you even know unless you come see it? "I don't have 15.00" Yes you do. Everybody has 15.00. Even you.
