Yes, it's barely 8 am and I'm up and even coherent. I've been up since 6:45--today was "take kitcat to vet" day. She's having a small mass removed and will hopefully be ready to pick up around noon. After I actually woke up and wasn't feeling that groggy feeling, it was actually really nice being up so early.
Random thoughts ......
Last night I went to a free concert in the park in a city close by me. It was so good-- the band was a bluegrass band and the lead singer/banjo player was the school board member that stops by my school and visits every once in awhile (and man, can he pick that banjo!!). Before the show I went up and said hi-- he's really a great guy. Soon it became very obvious that everyone thinks that way. Person after person came up and said hi to him, seems he's like my dad--he knows everybody everywhere. Anyway, one of the people I went with is the sister of someone I've known for quite a long time. I've known her for a long time as well, but I spend more time with the brother than the sister. Last week I was at the waterpark with K (brother) and he was talking about having problems with his computer and was really missing being on it, etc.. We were comparing how much time (a LOT) we both spend on the computer and he said B (his sister) only checks her email once a week, on Saturdays. I told him my feeling was that people that only check their email once a week shouldn't even say they HAVE an email address--and he said she pays 9.95 for 4 hours a month. Well, slap me silly and call me Wanda. That's ridiculous. Four hours a MONTH??? I know money is really tight for her--but for a few dollars a month more she could get unlimited access somewhere, I'm sure. Oh my, there's no way I could do four hours a week.
Re: a post on my sister's blog about other people's children. I completely agree-- I am not one of those people that thinks children should be welcomed at all times anywhere adults are welcomed . I'm talking about kids from the ages of 6-10 or so. I want an adults-only place or time at the waterpark. If I go to a concert in the park, I think after a reasonable play time or when it starts to get dark, kids should be sitting with their families and enjoying the concert. If you bring your kids to the theatre or a movie or a school function (talent show, etc..) they need to be sitting with their families enjoying the performance. If your child can't sit in a restaurant without banging the silverware repeatedly over and over and over on the table or the high chair, go home! "But I want to take my family out for a nice evening of...." Then teach your kids manners and expect them to behave better.
This Star Jones/The View thing is really getting out of hand. I have to say it's interesting watching the drama unfold (and she's actually perpetuating the drama, I believe) but get over it already. I wish they'd bring Rosie on early now! The gal they had sitting in yesterday wasn't that interesting--she seemed kind of a know-it-all and "I'm too good for this". Gong! (anybody get that reference?)
Okay--time for a shower. I need to go to my mom's and put her table leaf in (it's really a PAIN--for anybody). She asked me a couple of weeks ago, but I knew she really didn't need it done til today and she already called me once to remind me. I'm sure she thinks I'm not coming over to do it but little does she know, if it doesn't need to be in before this afternoon, I'm still good. I'm sure my sister will attest to this, but most of the time my mom's schedule of getting thigns done don't always jive with ours. Rarely, in fact.
