Today bfg and I attended class #1 of a cake decorating course. We didn't do anything ourselves, just watched the instructor and learned how to make the buttercream frosting, but it was pretty interesting. The cake on this booklet is our final project--which will be done on the last day (out of four!). There are two more courses after this one and we're probably going to take all of them. Just what I need--another hobby that costs $$$.

I was a little annoyed because the class was supposed to start at 2:30, and at 2:40 I went to the service desk and asked if they knew where the instructor was. Nobody seemed to know--so they called her. Seems she was running late. Okay, I'm thinking a courtesy call to the store to let them know that would be appropriate. She's pretty scattered, but was very pleasant and I did like her style. It wasn't a very good first impression, though. What was really bad was that we thought the class started at 12:30 and had already been hanging around at the store at that time! When we discovered it actually started at 2:30, we headed to Pan-air-ah and sat and read the paper--and took all the coupons for the the big three craft stores around here. We knew we were going to be buying the student kit for the course, and other items so wanted those 40% off coupons!
