The skies are a little dark, the wind is blowing, there's thunder, and a little rain. I hope it keeps up for awhile. I like this kind of weather. It's nice to have some cool breezes for a change.

I'm finishing up the last few weeks of an online class I'm taking through my school district. It's been interesting (kind of) but the timing has been really something to reconsider. It actually started the last.week.of.school. Okay, so what were they thinking? That's possibly the worst time to start a class, with the exception of the week before Christmas break. Each week we have to post responses to readings--there's a discussion board and we're supposed to post once a week and comment on two other posts. I find myself completely making up things just to post. I'm on summer break. I don't really feel like reading three articles on technology acquisition and scaffolding, then reflecting. We also have an online journal we post in once a week, then submit. Again, I'm completely making up things that sound good. I've found I don't really care for the online format. In fact, three of us got together last week and worked on projects together--we all needed the face-to-face contact. But it's almost done, so that's a good thing, as Martha would say. I'm sure FL can relate. The nice thing is, I have four more years to accumulate credit for relicensure, and I'm already done. Last year I was madly taking a class right before I submitted my application for renewal of my teaching license. Anyone who has a teaching license knows that's a bad idea. If you don't renew on time, you don't get paid and you can't even step foot in the school.

Yeah, because we'd do so much educational damage, you know.

During my engineering class, there wasn't a half hour that passed that I didn't consider slipping out and not returning. It is SO TEMPTING to just drop it, huh. You're almost done.

I couldn't get into that course either, or the book courses I am taking for that matter. I am totally making crap up that just sounds good. It was an easy 3 credits. That was all I cared about, really. My license expires in May. With the way CDE works, I should probably apply for the new one right now. I wonder what color the van is that they pick you up in if your license expires?

MY section of the course was absolutely not an easy three credits. Our final project has been a lot of work. And having the class during the whole first half of the summer stinks.

Well, we are just about to do our final projects. I haven't even looked at the requirements so maybe I am about to eat my words. Grrr....
