In a few weeks I am heading to The Park of Estes with a friend for a weekend of scrapbooking. We have gone on a scrapbooking retreat every fall for quite a few years now-- always joining a group of other scrapbookers from a friend's customer base. I always consider joining them as a planner and organizer for my own customers, but I so enjoy just being a participant that I only want to do that. If I'm one of the organizers, I can't really take off and go to SB, walk around and do shopping in the area, etc...

I've been going through my files of pictures on the computer, trying to get my projects for the retreat organized. What I've come to realize is that sometimes I don't take pictures of things--especially at things my family does together. After a few times of hearing "No more pictures!" I guess I just stopped taking any at birthdays, holidays, etc.. My nieces are probably the worst about this--but I'm letting them know right now they can protest all they want from now on...I'm taking pictures. So I don't care if you have murder eyes (family story) or look like a slob, or just woke up from a nap in the back bedroom--you'd better smile and act happy to have that picture taken. :-)

I'm really looking forward to the weekend retreat--it's always a fun weekend spent with a friend I don't see often enough. By the end of the weekend people always wonder what we've been laughing about all weekend--and we laugh loud and often. It's the kind of laughing that makes tears start streaming but honestly, the things we laugh about most people don't find particularly funny. It's that slumber-party kind of humor, I guess. Just an adult version.

Yea, I don't really give a fart who wants their picture taken or not I just do it anyway. And most of the time later someone will say "oh that picture is so funny!"

Remember that time we shared a room with Danelle and M...? (can't remember your stepmother's name at the moment) and laughed outselves SICK? I think we were watching a beauty pageant...? Oh, and how about, "That's his Indian name." You crazy woman!!!

Yes, I do remember that weekend. It was crazee. I wish I could remember what prompted that "Indian name" comment. It still makes me laugh, but if I knew why, it might be funnier.

And I'M a crazy woman? "Ring-ring. Hello?" The phone is for you-- it's the pot calling for kettle. Shall I take a message?

That guy was making a phone call over by the exit door. I guess he wasn't getting a good connection inside. The details are a little foggy, but I think at the time, we were bitterly muttering about the hosana music, and that poor guy- probably completely uninvolved in the music selection- was guilty by association. Anyway, you referred to him and, of course not knowing his name, called him something like Stands By Door. Or something. Whew. It was so funny.
