Happy Birthday CP.....

Several niggly things are bugging me today-- unmet expectations, self-doubts, second-guessing, bouts of tears here and there based on what commercial happens to come on at the moment ("waaahh--someone's grandpa is working at McD's and they just got a Hallmark card then found their long-lost love on the internet...."). Is there anyone who doesn't go through this every once in awhile? I think not. If you say not, I think somebody's pants are on fire (liar, liar...).

Also the ever-present headache that I've had for months and months is very noticeable today. For the last week or so it's been a lot less noticeable--except for that long couple of days at the B&N fundraiser then the late night the next night. Last Thursday I felt like I had hangover headache and fatigue-- without the benefit of the fun the night before.

I'm doing pretty much nothing all week-- especially today. Matlock is my new friend. As is On Demand. Who needs to pay attention to when the Sopranos are really on-- when you can watch all this season's episodes in one sitting? I'm sorting through papers that have piled up, scrapbooking a bit, doing dishes, etc... I've become one of those "hop up at every commercial and do something for that two minutes" kind of person. It really is pretty amazing how much a person can accomplish during commercial breaks. One problem--- when I watch an actual full length movie I can barely wait til it's over so I can hop up and do something.

The fundraiser at B&N for my library last Tues night netted me $1400. And with the way I felt after it was over I know my joints and my feet earned every single one of those dollars. Along with the wonderful people who volunteered and the others that spent $$ that night. I really do work with some wonderful people-- after working all day, then coming to stand for an hour and pass out flyers and promote our fundraiser. Above and beyond-- they are are great.

I have a couple of big things coming up at school-- CSAP proctoring for 6 tests, book fair at the end of April, author visit May 8, but after that author visit on May 8, my school year is a big fat wind down. Yes, there will be a few weeks of school left where I do have to show up and pretend to work (tongue in cheek--really, it's impossible to be at school and not work) but the end of the year will SO be within sight.
