Seems like every Friday I let out a big sigh and a declaration that I am so glad the week is over. Last week was no exception, nor will this week, or the next or the next, until June 1.
Friday night I went to rehearsal with bfg so I could get a feel for how the show is running. The place where they are rehearsing is a big former Kacey Fine Furniture place. And I mean big. And it echoes, Really bad. Worse than bad. They have all these quilts and blankets hanging from the duct pipes to try to muffle the echoing. I don't know if anyone's mentioned it to them, but it's not working. The show sounds great, though. It does looks like the set building is behind schedule-- I'm sure they'll get it all done but I worry it will be a big stress of long nights and extra building days. This year I haven't worked on the set at all, bfg has only been a few times because he has a voice lesson on Sat mornings when they are at the set shop.
Last night we watched Mobsters and Mormons and it was great. All those LDS cinema movies are so funny--and great stories. This is a pretty new one---there was even a long wait for it on Nettie Flickers.
Today I babysat two 7 year olds for a friend. I've done my fair share of babysitting in my years, and I'm just glad I don't have to do much of it anymore. Actually, it's probably been twenty years since I've done any. It hasn't changed. Argue, pout, yell, argue, play, pout, argue... you get the idea.
Tomorrow an author is coming to spend the day at my school. I should have done the prep work on Friday before I left but I just never got around to it. It isn't much-- a table here, some chairs there, but still. To know I have that work to do when I get there in the morning is a little stress inducing.
Tonight is laundry night, SVU and CSI. I'm such a party girl.
