Warning: CSI season ending spoiler ahead at some point. Avert your eyes if you don't want to know!
All day yesterday and a bit of today I was not happy with many people I work with. As a going away gift, we are making a memory book for our principal. Each person was asked to create a page and give it to me by this past Monday. I've sent numerous emails, gave copious instructions, offered help if needed, and by Monday I had 6 pages (we have 55 staff members). I extended the deadline, and today I have quite a few more but not without constant haranguing. The ones that have been done so far are wonderful--all of them. But each day I hear little comments that so-and-so isn't going to do a page, which really annoys me. I gave the "assignment" weeks ago, and not one word was said to me about not doing one. It's a little late to be telling me now. In fact, my opinion is that not doing one is not an option at this point, but that won't get me anywhere but pissed off. Yesterday I was really mad about it and stewed about it all day and night. This morning I finally got to a point where I just had to let it go because if people are going to be unreliable and selfish, then so be it. And lo and behold, one of the people I was told wasn't going to do a page came and got the paper, and said she'd have it to me tomorrow. I used to have a posted in my classroom that said "There are three kinds of people in this world---those who make things happen, those who watch what happened, and those who wonder what happened". And believe me, we have all three at my school.
And thank you to the CSI writers for two things: Not letting Captain Brass die, and finally making Nick Stokes look normal again. I hated hated hated (really hated) that moustache, and I also hated his long hair with bangs hanging over his eyes.
As for AI, I hope Taylor Hicks wins. I won't be home Mon-Thurs next week, so will miss the big AI finale. It's just not the same watching it later, after hearing everyone talk about it at work.
One more day to buy tickets from me for our show-- any takers?
9 more days of school. Please, someone get the time machine. Stat.
