The dressy dinner dance tonight was SO much fun. My shoes weren't so great--I had to run out about 3:00 this afternoon and buy some because I just don't usually do dressy. They looked okay, but weren't that comfortable. I had them off most of the evening anyway. It's much easier to dance that way!

There was a silent auction, a live auction (now THAT was fun to watch) and lots of dancing. The band was great. The lead singer was the guy that plays Officer O'Dell on the Rocky's Auto commercials here in town. He was great. They mostly played music from the 70's--Earth, Wind and Fire, KC and the Sunshine Band, Gloria Gaynor-- it was really good.

A good time was had by all. And I do mean all.

I could use a good time, and fast! It's only Nov. and teachers are already at their limit. Not a good sign. Also not a good sign when more than one teacher ends up crying in a meeting. Hello... Captain Smith, take a look at your crew!!!

There's no crying for teachers! Bad Capt. Smith, bad!

Too bad this event was so "exclusive" because a few more people at MG may have benefited from this type of activity and would have liked to support such a worthy cause. Oh well, I guess those of us that aren't in the club will just have to give our money elsewhere. pft....

I don't think it was really as exclusive as it seems. The "tables" were $1500 each, and those there have been involved with the host's class in some way over the last year or two--field testing curriculum, doing writing centers, etc.... I think it was her way of saying "thank you" for helping her out.
