Popcorn-like thoughts for the day.....

The President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints died last night. I'm not Mormon, but I know enough to know this is important and has great meaning for Mormons.

I've been reading and hearing some rumblings that NCLB (if you don't know what that is, you must not have anything to do with a kid in school) might be in trouble and there are thoughts of change on its way. All I can say is, "What took you guys so damn long?!" And did anyone else know about that little part in NCLB that says secondary schools are required to give military recruiters students' home addresses and phone numbers upon request? I'm not clear what this has to do with increasing student achievement.

Active listening is becoming a lost skill in adults ages 18 through infinity.

I think the leader at my school has moved to another country--we don't see him much anymore.

I'm super tired tonight and am considering going to bed way early. I don't really want to though, because I'm not at school tomorrow afternoon because I'm going to a training, and I took a personal day in the morning so I could sleep in and go to an early lunch at Pan-air-ahhhhhh.

I'm a really good speller, but not a very accurate typist most times, so I really love spellcheck. A lot of people think spellcheck is cheating in school, but I think since you have to know the right spelling to choose it, it's not.

Monday night television really stinks.

You were smart to take a personal day... well, personal half day. I bet it felt great to sleep in. Good for you.
