Several blogs I've been reading today have listed things they are thankful for. I always have such a hard time doing that, mostly because I feel like I'm not very good at it. I tried to keep a gratitude journal once and failed miserably. That doesn't mean I'm not thankful for anything--I just don't do a very good job of listing them, I guess.

But if Laurie can be thankful for her skin-care products, I can be thankful for carmex. I love carmex.

It was kind of a weird holiday this year--several of the regulars in my fam were elsewhere so those of us left just met at my mom's for biscuits and gravy. There were only four of us so it was a small group. It was good as it always is (I love my mom's biscuits and gravy), but it really didn't feel much like a holiday. We're getting together on Saturday for the turkey dinner, and all but one person will be able to be there.

And what's with all the stores being open today? That seems weird and unusual and also not very holiday-like.

Tomorrow--I'm making the mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, and pecan pie I'm taking to dinner on Saturday. I'll probably get yelled at by Amanda because two of the items will need to go in the oven, but oh well. It wouldn't be a holiday if someone didn't get chastised by Amanda for something food-related. Maybe the mashed potatoes can be in the crock pot--that might work!

... but would she rather you NOT bring mashed potatoes and - gasp!- your mac and cheese?

It wouldn't matter what I did or didn't do. There will surely be something to get chastised for. Arriving too early, arriving too late, leaving my slippers over there, bringing the wrong kind of rolls, bringing something that needs to be heated, bringing something that needs to be refrigerated... the list is endless.

I always laugh at Danelle's and your posts about Amanda. Hope you don't get in too much trouble ;)

We laugh, too--but at her, not with her.

Well? Pictures? Did you play any impossible games this year? Did the crock pot work out ok? Did she tantrum? (I know you love her!!!)
