That new book I'm reading (over there------>) is just so-so. My friend B read it and liked it, I'm not hating it but I realized the other night that the reason I'm not enjoying it as much is because the author is writing about her experiences in "infiltrating" the world of men and seeing what they are really like when they are with just men. And personally, I don't really like men when they act the way they do when they are in their men groups. The way they talk about women, their wives, etc... I'm about half way through the book and will finish it, but I don't think it will be one of those books I want everyone else to read.

I do have one book waiting to be read, but keep putting it off. One morning the library staff of a public library in Iowa found a tiny, little kitten had been shoved through their nighttime book drop, and he became the library "mascot" cat. It looks like such a neat story, but I KNOW the cat's like eventually has to come to an end, so I'm avoiding reading it. I thumbed through it at the Tattered Cover a few weeks ago and did read the last five or so pages to see how painful it would be. Waaaah.

I try not to read books, or watch movies, where the main subject is an animal because I know it'll be sad at some point. Scott learned this lesson after bugging me to watch 30 Below and listening to me sob the entire movie.
