Look! New book over there------->

The Big Wedding was beautiful. High school pal CP's daughter got married in the Eisenhower Chapel on Saturday-- what a beautiful chapel, perfect for a wedding. This is the only chapel left of the four that were built on the former Lowry Air Force Base--and as the name suggests, was President Eisenhower's church of choice for several years when he was visiting the "Summer White House" on the base. Too bad those big electrical boxes are so prominent in the front of the chapel!

High school pal MG came out from Virginia for the wedding, and the four of us pals spent the night at a hotel Mon night, then hung out on Tuesday. It's always so fun to hang with them-- we're all a little silly together, and we actually enjoy doing nothing for a good part of the time we're together. We only stayed over one night, and there were three of us in one car, but by the look of this trunk you'd think it was a major road trip.

The hotel had a manager's reception at 5:30 which meant free beverages. Mmmmm...amaretto sours all around! Actually, two drinks per person to start with--why waste time?? There's also a stray screwdriver in there on the right, but it was so awful I didn't drink it. We think maybe it was 3/4 vodka and a tablespoon of orange juice.

CP brought along a big basket of goodies she had gotten for her birthday. It was FULL of stuff--soda, cheese, crackers, summer sausage, Slim Jims, several kinds of candy, tortilla chips, a jar of salsa, microwave popcorn.... and a lot more. This is the before picture........

And what it looked like after we opened it.
We also had leftover wedding cake, leftover wedding mints, a big bottle of Kahlua, and two coolers full of water and soda. Needless to say, we barely made a dent in everything we brought.

And one last photo to show you what my everyday life is like at the moment:
