I just finished addressing envelopes to thirty students at my school. The day we had our first snow day I was planning on announcing who the qualifiers for our school geography bee were, then we had two snow days, winter break started and I've been gone. They had better appreciate these letters. You know what's really unsettling? There were a few (more than a few, actually) envelopes I addressed that I wondered if those parents would come and give me a problem because a brother or sister didn't make it in, or if they'd want me to justify why so and so got in and their little darling didn't. All you people that think we teachers have it pretty easy-- you are so, so wrong.
