Semisweet--but not as good as the morsels

Yesterday was the last performance of the show, and after everyone went to the lobby to say their hellos to their friends that came, we stayed to strike the set. All the pieces that took so long to create, gone in a flash. It took a little over two hours, which also included cleaning the dressing rooms, sweeping and repainting the stage, and packing everything into the rented truck. I didn't really do that much except wait til the stage was clear and swept so I could paint back over the part we had painted on. There are so many people trying to help, and not enough power tools to go around, so I've learned it's just better to stay out of the way until you see something that needs to be done. This picture is actually about an hour into the process. After the backdrop was lowered and folded, the huge flats were brought in and taken apart.

It was fun, but I'm glad it's done for another year.
