Brrr-- my feeties are cold. I have slippers on, but need some socks. I'm headed upstairs in a bit, so will grab them then. I sleep with socks on every night, and they are always off and shoved to the end of the bed every morning. I got some fuzzy socks from FL and CP for Christmas--and they are the best. I just need them on NOW.

This was a relatively low-key weekend. Last night we watched Fantastic 4 on TV-- it was an okay movie, but I don't really enjoy all the commercial breaks. Although they did give me some time to make tea, make popcorn, etc... Then we watched the Sgt Pepper movie from On Demand. It has been so so so long since I'd seen that movie. Such great music. And PF--man was he skinny. And the Gibb brothers and several in the crowd scenes--pants so tight you could tell which side they "dress on", if you know what I mean.

In recent weeks I've been really annoyed at someone at school. I'm not the only one--several folks think this person takes liberties and stretches the "rules" as they are. This has been going on for several years. After school on Friday she came and asked to borrow a laptop for a few minutes. Not a big problem--except after school and on weekends the laptops are on lock up now because this very person has been abusing the privilege of borrowing one. I was actually getting ready to lock up and head out, but told her go ahead, and dinked around a bit waiting for her to bring it back. After about 20 minutes I was really getting annoyed, so went down to her room to see if I could pick it up. She was on the phone, so I waited outside her room. I could tell she was having a fight with whoever was on the phone (it was her ex), so I moved further away so I couldn't hear her conversation. When she was finished she came out into the hall and I asked her if she was okay, and she said "no" and burst into tears. I went over and hugged her, and she held the hug for a long time. In that moment I wasn't annoyed with her anymore and I felt some compassion for her.

It's a hard thing to do sometimes, but it's good to remember that everyone has their own personal issues. I think a lot of the time our own personal issues seem to blind us to that. I know mine do.

Oh my goodness. I'm so glad you were "in the moment" with her. Several people at my school have just worn me down to threads, and then I find out they've been really really sick. Like you said, everybody has their own issues.

Yeah, well unfortuantely later the next day I discovered some very unsettling news about other issues with this person and my compassion is a little diminished.
