Definition of a really good friend: One who will meet you at the emergency room after a phone call, and sit in the waiting room for three and a half very long hours while you are in some room somewhere else getting poked, monitored and scanned to see if you have a pulmonary embolism or some other horrible scary-sounding problem. Good times.

B has had a chest cold going on for almost two weeks, and now it hurts pretty bad when he coughs. He had an x-ray done at the doctor this afternoon, and was sent to the emergency room for a CT scan, which turned into a little bit more. All turned out well, looks like it just might be a muscle strain from coughing, but kind of scary. And let me tell you, sitting in an emergency room by yourself for that long is not the most fun I've ever had. After awhile I just wanted to make sure he was still back there! When someone finally came out and called my name to go back in the room, I was never so glad to hear my name in all my life.

I'm awfully glad tomorrow is Friday.

Oh my dear! He is so lucky to have your faithful friendship. Glad to hear nothing horrifying found- and also very glad it's Friday...

He is more than lucky to have you. Too bad he's a man and unwilling to see how lucky he is half the time.
